When I read about starting a blog, they said you should pick a niche. Except for I’m a lady who has a lot going on at one time, so I feel it more appropriate to write about it all. You might not be interested in all I have to say, but I’m guessing that you will probably appreciate something (even if that is just my humor).
So, a little about me…
I am a homeschool boy mom. Yes, my life is as crazy as that sounds. When the bus drives by I think, “I could have hours of sanity” but then I look at my kids and I wouldn’t give up my time with them for all the world. We don’t do worksheets at the table, we do life together. The kind of lessons that they won’t forget after a test.
On January 7, 2022 my family had a house fire. I don’t want you to read this and think that I’m a girl who can’t get over the fact that her house burned down. I tell you this to give you background to where I am in life and how I got here. We lost all our earthly possessions. We worked through the pain and learned to thrive through it all. Yes, its still crazy, but I love the life we live. Being a homeschool family, we bonded in such a deep level as we worked through the pain and rebuilding together.
I’m not a homesteader, but I do lots of cooking and do own a flock of chickens. Seeing those birds running around our yard cracks me up every time they take off. Unless, of course, I’m yelling at them to quit making a mess of my patio.
I help run an organization called Grit and Glitz. We talk about the raw, hard things that it takes to build our lives and vocations. The behind the scenes of the posed favorite pictures. Like my organization is called. You need to know the grit behind me.
The why behind how I designed my house. I put a lot of thought into every detail of it. I was thankful for all the posts that others shared about their homes to help discover what I liked and didn’t like. I want to share what I learned to hopefully help others make informed decisions.
The why I do some of the things that I do. Life is a lot of trial and error. The super real part of me has a habit of sharing my errors, possibly more than my wins. But that might just be because there are a lot more of those. But I am awesome at trying!
The what I have in my house that I love (and don’t). When you restart a home from scratch, you learn a lot. And nothing I own is older than two, so I’m pretty up to date on things.
So that is a little of where this may all be heading. I guess we’ll see.
